#Mike Francesa whiffs on Jamal Adams take during final WFAN show

Mike Francesa provided his listeners one final wrong take on his way out of WFAN.

During his last regular appearance on the station Friday after announcing it would be his last show as a daily WFAN host, Francesa said no NFL team would trade two first-round picks to acquire safety Jamal Adams from the Jets. A day later, the Jets did indeed get two first-round picks from the Seattle Seahawks as part of a significant haul for the disgruntled Adams, who had been trying to get traded.

“You’re not gonna trade two 1s for him anyway. You’re not gonna do it. You’re never gonna get that,” Francesa said, noting the “burden” paying such a price along with giving Adams a new deal would put on a franchise.

Francesa announced Thursday he was retiring from WFAN for a second time because he wanted to spend more time with his family. He initially retired at the end of 2017, only to come back more than four months later. He tried starting his own $8.99-per-month app with exclusive content, but it failed. He also saw his ratings decline and eventually switched from afternoons to a shorter early evening show.
