#Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Celebrates Bunny Day with a Special Visual & Video

The ongoing Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian TV anime is celebrating Bunny Day in Japan by releasing a special visual and video, featuring the seven female characters from the series. The anime first aired in Japan on July 3, 2024. 

The seven characters featured in the visual and video include Alya, Yuki, Maria, Ayano, Sayaka, Chisaki, and Nonoa. 

Bunny Day is an informal online holiday celebrated on the Japanese web, where people celebrate and pay tribute to the iconic bunny suits by drawing their favorite characters or cosplaying in them. 

Ryota Ito (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie, My Senpai is Annoying director) is directing the anime series and writing the screenplay. Other staff include Yuhei Murota (Love Live! Sunshine!!) as character designer and chief animation director, Risa Wakabayashi (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) as art director, Yuka Ito (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie) as color designer, Seiichi Sugiura (Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence) as compositing director, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Burn The Witch#0.8) as music composer. Doga Kobo is handling the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the main voice cast stars:

  • • Ikumi Hasegawa as Sayaka Taniyama
  • • Yoshino Aoyama as Nonoa Miyamae
  • • Kodai Sakai as Takeshi Maruyama
  • • Taichi Ichikawa as Hikaru Kiyomiya

The light novel series is written by Sunsunsun and illustrated by Momoko. It was first published by Kadokawa Shoten’s Sneaker Bunko imprint on February 27, 2021. Eight total volumes have been released as of February 2024, along with a short story collection. Yen Press releases the light novels in English for North America. 

A manga adaptation from Kodansha by Saho Tenamachi was launched on October 29, 2022. The series began as a series of short stories on Shosetsuka ni Naro in May 2020.

Crunchyroll is streaming Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian worldwide, outside of Japan. It describes the synopsis as: 

Alya is a transfer student enjoying popularity at her new high school, often sporting a cold shoulder while earning high marks in class. She ignores her nerdy classmate, Kuze Masachika, except for when she blurts out a flirtatious line to him in Russian. Little does she know, Kuze understands Russian, though he pretends not to. Let’s see where this wacky love story takes them!
