#Too Many Losing Heroines! Releases “Unrequited Love” Visual

Japanese wordplay has made April 20 Shitsuren no Hi — Heartbreak Day. Heartbreak is central to the premise of the upcoming Too Many Losing Heroines! anime, and so it’s commemorating the day with an “Anna Yanami Unrequited Love Visual.”

Despite “unrequited love” being the title of the assignment, the visual resembles a standard date-themed illustration. Adopting a first-person perspective, it has a cafe setting and a drawing of Anna, one of the main heroines of the story, offering to feed her partner a small mouthful of sundae while wearing a radiant expression.

Too Many Losing Heroines! will begin airing in July 2024. It’s an adaptation of the Gagaga Bunko light novel series written by Takibi Amamori and illustrated by Imigimuru, which began in July 2021 and has six volumes as of December 2023.

Seven Seas Entertainment describes the plot as:

Plain, boring, and friendless Nukumizu Kazuhiko has witnessed something completely baffling: popular girl Yanami Anna was friend-zoned by her childhood friend and crush! In fact, all the popular girls around him are getting similarly rejected by the boys they like. Without realizing it, Kazuhiko becomes entangled in the relationship drama where all the leading heroines are losing out on love! Can he keep their spirits up and help them find happiness?

Too Many Losing Heroines! was the Gagaga Award winner at the 15th Shougakukan Light Novel Taisho, and has inspired a manga adaptation by Itachi.
