#Akane Shimizu's Medical Manga Series Cells at Work! Ends Today

Popular comedy biology manga series Cells at Work!, created by Akane Shimizu, ended its run in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius today with the release of the March 2021 issue. The final two-part story looked at the new coronavirus and its internal effects on the body from the perspective of the characters in the series. The 6th and final volume of Cells at Work! will be released in Japan on February 6.

The Cells at Work! manga and its spin-offs are being released in English from Kodansha Comics, with five volumes currently released.

 

TV anime adaptations of Cells at Work! season two, and its spin-off series Cells at Work! CODE BLACK, are both currently airing on Japanese TV with streams around the world from Funimation and their partners. Crunchyroll streamed the first season of Cells at Work!, describing it as much:
