# Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition coming to PS5 this spring alongside new DLC

Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developers Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media, and Wicked Witch will release Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5 this spring alongside a new downloadable content expansion, the companies announced.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition first launched for PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on November 14, 2019, followed by Xbox Series and Xbox One on January 31, 2023.

This spring, the globally beloved Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will make its debut on PlayStation 5. Alongside this release, we’ll be dropping one of the most exciting downloadable content expansions for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition yet, packed with fresh new content, new civilizations for Ranked play, and ready for all players to enjoy together across all platforms—PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.
