#Accursed Affection Blossoms in The Duke of Death and His Maid TV Anime Trailer

The course of true love never did run smooth, and this is especially true when curses are involved! A new preview video, a new key visual, new cast members, and the OP / ED theme song performers have all been revealed for The Duke of Death and His Maid (known in Japan as Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid), an upcoming TV anime based on the romantic comedy manga by Inoue about a young nobleman who suffers under a curse that causes anything he touches to wither and die and the maid who loves to tease him.

 

The new cast members include:

 

A character setting of Rob from the upcoming The Duke of Death and His Maid TV anime. Rob appears as a gentlemanly butler in his later years with gray hair, a gray mustache, and an eyepatch covering his right eye.

 

Hōchū Ōtsuka as Rob.

The opening theme, entitled “Mangetsu to Silhouette no Yoru” (“An Evening of Full Moon and Silhouette”), is performed in-character by Bocchan (CV: Natsuki Hanae) and Alice (CV: Ayumi Mano). The ending theme, entitled “Nocturne”, is performed in-character by Alice (CV: Ayumi Mano).

 

 

The story of The Duke of Death and His Maid is described as follows:

 

A nobleman named Bocchan–. When he was a child, he was cursed by a witch with a curse that would make everything he touched die. The curse causes him to be rejected by those around him, and he has spent his days alone in a large mansion deep in the forest. The maid who serves him is Alice. But Alice’s presence is the source of his biggest worry because she routinely sexually harasses him…! Alice is always seducing Bocchan as close as she can get. Bocchan loves her but is not even allowed to hold her hand. Will their pure love really bear fruit…?

 

A new key visual for the upcoming The Duke of Death and His Maid TV anime, featuring the main characters - Bocchan and Alice - in the foreground of a lovely flower garden while the supporting cast lingers and looks on near a fountain in the background. Bocchan presents Alice with a withered rose, while Alice smiles gently.

 

The Duke of Death and His Maid is directed by Yoshinobu Yamakawa and features animation production by J.C. Staff. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

 

  • TOKYO MX: every Sunday during the 22:00 time slot beginning on July 04, 2021.
  • Yomiuri TV: every Monday during hte 25:59 time slot beginning on July 05, 2021.
  • BS11: every Sunday during the 23:30 time slot beginning on July 04, 2021.

 

Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 25:59 time slot on Monday evening is actually on Tuesday morning at 1:59am JST.
