The release of «Vinland Saga» is imminent and now we know who will be featured in the disc synchro…
In May 2021, the German publisher KAZÉ announced the anime series Vinland Saga release on DVD and Blu-ray. A short time later, several foreign languages appeared in “Vinland Saga” on Netflix Japan. German subtitles were also added, which is why it was assumed that a German synchro will soon appear there as well (we researched).
In September there is finally one German Dubbing on Netflix Japan surfaced after the series had long been a global exclusive on Amazon Prime Video. This synchro is under the directing from René Dawn-Claude in the Interopa Film developed (dialogue books also by Dawn-Claude).
The serial release was originally supposed to start on January 13, 2022 with Volume 1 (Ep. 1-6) in the collector’s slipcase (we reported), but had to “for production-related reasons in the spring“ to be moved. According to AnimaniA, the 24-episode series is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray starting March 17, 2022, but whether that date is final is unknown. The pre-order option for the series is not available at this time.
But now it has at least been confirmed in the latest AnimaniA issue (2/2022): KAZÉ will release the Netflix dubbed version. It is not known who originally commissioned the “Vinland Saga” synchro. While 2 different synchros were produced in French and English (one each for disc and one for Netflix), there is only one synchro in German. Plot of «Vinland Saga»:
Anno 1002, Iceland: Six-year-old Thorfinn lives with his family in a small village by the sea. When he’s not helping at work, he listens intently to the adventurous stories about the wide world across the ocean. This peaceful everyday life is shattered when Floki, a commander of the Jomsvikings, shows up to bring Thorfinn’s father back to the battlefield. With the village taken hostage, Thors – also known as the “Troll of Yom” – must now confront his past and assemble a ship’s crew of enthusiastic young men. Thorfinn is denied boarding due to his age, but he manages to smuggle himself onto the ship.
