XXXTENTACTION and Lil Uzi Vert have joined forces on a new track titled “I’m Not Human,” marking their first collaboration — check it out below.

The somber song, which was released on Monday (January 23) to commemorate what would’ve been X’s 25th birthday, finds the two artists taking a different approach and going for a ballad-inspired record that reflects on their sentimental emotions.

“Bury all your secrets in my skin/ Come away with innocence/ And leave me with my sins/ Air around me feels just like a cage/ Love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage,” XXX sings.

Uzi comes in with his verse towards the end of the song, singing: “Lay you down when you go to sleep/ And wipe your eyes every time you weep, oh/ Tell you that life is not that deep/ Paintin’ pictures that I’m a freak, but I’m not a human.”

“I’m Not Human” was announced XXXTENTACION’s official Instagram page shortly before its release. “A gift from Jah,” read the caption. “Thank you #liluzi.”

The song is the first joint effort between the two, but it’s unclear if Lil Uzi Vert recorded his feature on “I’m Not Human” before XXX was shot and killed in June 2018.

Last November, Baby Pluto explained why he had yet to work with the late “Look At Me!” rapper during an appearance on Adin Ross’ live stream.

“I really like him,” he said. “He called me one time when he was incarcerated a long time ago. I was going on stage, I was on tour with The Weeknd and he actually rapped a song for me that he never laid and it was actually really good.

“I’d love to do a song with him but I’m really weird on stuff like that. Don’t get me wrong, it took me really long to do that with another artist. I’m really weird because I understand that they’re not here living and what if that’s not the vision they really want? Especially if they really fucked with me.”

He added: “What if that’s all wrong? I’d be pissed off if they did it all wrong and I’m not here. But you know, if it works out, it works out.”

During his set at Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival last summer, Uzi called XXX his “only competition” while reflecting on the fourth anniversary of his passing.

“It was an artist by the name of XXX… Rest in peace to XXX,” he told the crowd. “I’m not gonna lie, music was a little bit different around that time — and different in a good way. That was like my only competition.

“Every time I dropped, he dropped. Or every time he dropped, I dropped. And he would go number one or I’d go number one. Either way it was gonna go, one of us was gonna turn it up.”
