#Gov. Cuomo writing book about leading NY through COVID-19 pandemic

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a new book coming out — and it’s all about his experience leading New York through the coronavirus pandemic.

In a surprise announcement Tuesday, publisher Crown said the governor’s third book “American Crisis” will be released on Oct. 13 — promising readers a “remarkable portrait of leadership during crisis and a gritty story of gut-wrenching choices that point the way to a safer future for us all.”

Cuomo, 62, also looks back on his 40 years in public service and shares his interactions with the White House.

“If you don’t feel fear, you don’t appreciate the consequences of the circumstance,” Cuomo wrote in an excerpt. “The questions are what do you do with the fear and would you succumb to it. I would not allow the fear to control me. The fear kept my adrenaline high and that was a positive. But I would not let the fear be a negative, and I would not spread it. Fear is a virus also.”

The book also details a “clear game plan” for battling coronavirus, in light of New York having the lowest infection rates in the country months after it was the COVID-19 epicenter.

An audiobook edition of “American Crisis” will also be available — read by Cuomo himself.

Cuomo gained a national following over his handling of the pandemic — with “Cuomosexuals” mourning the end of his daily press briefings and his office peddling copies of his “New York Tough” victory-lap poster for $14.50.

The three-term Democrat has also authored “All Things Possible: Setbacks and Success in Politics” in 2014 and “Life and Crossroads: The Future of American Politics” in 2003.

News of his latest title comes the day after he addressed the Democratic National Convention, declaring that “COVID is a metaphor” for our country under President Trump.
