#7 shot, 1 killed in overnight shootings in Big Apple

A man was killed and six others shot in another violent night across the Big Apple, police said.

Staten Island was the only borough spared bloody gunplay.

In the fatal incident, a 20-year-old visiting from Indiana was shot dead in Bushwick, Brooklyn, just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Cops responding to a 911 call of a shooting at 51 Eldert St. found Ethan Williams of Indianapolis down the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.

It’s unclear what Williams and his friends, who saw the shooting, were doing in the area, police said.

In the latest incident, at 3:06 a.m. in the 46th Precinct in the Bronx, a man was shot in the back by an unknown assailant outside 2355 Webster Ave. The victim, 23, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Police said the rash of shootings began in Chelsea at 11:16 p.m., when a 24-year-old man was shot in the right foot and a 16-year-old teen was shot in the right leg and right arm. Both were wounded in front of 425 W. 25th Street and taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

A half-hour later, a 34-year-old man sitting in his car was shot in the right wrist, in front of 5507 Kings Highway in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Police said the gunman was also in a car. The victim drove himself to SUNY-Downstate Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Just after midnight, at 12:22 a.m., a 32-year-old man was shot in the right leg after arguing with a man in the rear of 131 Beach 56th Place in Queens, police said. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital.

Shortly before 2 a.m., the gunplay continued in the 23rd precinct in East Harlem, where a 41-year-old man was struck once in both legs following an argument with another man, who shot him and fled, police said. The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The overnight surge in violence comes after a dozen people were shot — two fatally — in 11 separate incidents across the city Thursday and Friday, police said.
