Seven people were gunned down at an illegal marijuana grow house in Southern California early Monday morning, authorities said.

The victims, including a woman, were found at about 12:30 a.m. at the home in Aguanga, a rural community about 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

“Evidence located at the scene indicated the location was being used to manufacture and harvest an illicit marijuana operation,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Over 1,000 pounds of marijuana and several hundred plants were recovered at the scene.

Authorities believe there are multiple suspects, who were still being sought as of late Tuesday.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public,” the sheriff’s department said.
