#Millie Bobby Brown’s ‘Stranger Things’ Co-Star Matthew Modine to Officiate Her Wedding

Millie Bobby Brown is letting her Stranger Things “Papa” officiate her upcoming wedding to Jake Bongiovi.

Matthew Modine, who plays Dr. Martin Brenner, aka Eleven’s “Papa,” on the hit Netflix sci-fi series, recently revealed to Access Daily how the idea of him being the one to officiate his co-star’s nuptials to Jon Bon Jovi’s son came about.

“I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it’d be great and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife,” he explained.

Modine noted that he has officiated a wedding once before, adding, “It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.”

At the end of February, Brown shared the untold story of her engagement to Bongiovi during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, saying she had kept quiet regarding details of the proposal because she wanted to keep “key moments” private. However, she told the host that it was “too good of a story to not tell” since her fiancé decided to propose underwater.

“He puts the ring on my hand and as I go to show him, the ring falls off my finger, plummets so fast,” the actress recalled. “Jake threw himself into the water, like, so deep. Like, the diver was like, ‘You can’t do that. Your ears—literally, your brain will explode.’”

The Damsel star first indicated that she was engaged in an April 2023 Instagram post that featured a photo of Bongiovi embracing Brown, the latter of whom also appeared to be wearing an engagement ring at the time.

She wrote in the caption, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”
