Now is a great time to reminisce in your favorite Disney shows from the past

With quarantine occurring right now, many are resorting to streaming services and watching new and old shows as a means of enjoyment. Some of you may even be revisiting shows from your past, but what about those from really in the past? As in maybe rewatching a few episodes from your favorite childhood shows on Disney Plus?

For many of us, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon were THE channels during our childhood for watching some great shows. In fact, some of the classic shows from Disney Channel aired during the 2000s, when many big names that are known today were just making their start. Unfortunately, there are very few ways to watch classic DC shows today, but the streaming service Disney Plus has many of those shows and movies. Let’s look at a few of the best:

Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004)

Lizzie McGuire follows the life of, well, Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie is a teen going through the normal challenges of being in young adulthood, including school, different relationships, and building her identity. Luckily, the teen has her friends Gordo (Adam Lamberg) and Miranda (Lalaine) right by her side. She also has the guidance of her parents Joanne (Hallie Todd) and Samuel (Robert Carradine) and a strong bond with her little brother Matt (Jake Thomas).

What is unique about this series is that an animated Lizzie frequently appears on the real one’s shoulder to convey what she is feeling on a deeper level.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005-2008)

Rambunctious twins Zack (Dylan Sprouse) and Cody (Cole Sprouse) get to live in a paradise in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody as they move into the lavish Tipton Hotel with their mom Carey (Kim Rhodes), who is a singer. The twins now get to enjoy room service and more as they go through middle school and high school while living in this hotel.

Their recklessness and pranks always get on the nerves of stern hotel manager Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis), but they grow a close bond with candy counter girl Maddie (Ashley Tisdale), wealthy, but scatterbrained London (Brenda Song), spirited bellboy Esteban (Adrian R’Mante), dimwitted hotel engineer Arwin (Brian Stepanek), and more.

This series has a “sequel” called The Suite Life on Deck, which aired in 2008 and is also available on Disney Plus.

Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012)

Justin (David Henrie), Alex (Selena Gomez), and Max (Jake T. Austin) Russo are just three regular teens living in New York City with their parents Jerry (David DeLuise) and Theresa (Maria Canals-Barrera) in Wizards of Waverly Place. The family runs a sandwich restaurant and the three teens attend high school.

That’s about as normal as it gets for the family as the three kids also have magical abilities—AKA, they are wizards. Between learning new powers and trying to control their “out of this world” abilities, the kids must deal with the regular life of a high school student. Not all the Russo kids will get to keep their magic for life though, as a competition between the three will decide who gets to retain their wizard abilities and who will ultimately lose them—for the rest of their life.

There is a film version of this series called Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. It aired in 2009 is available to stream on Disney Plus.
