#1993 Beat ’em Up Night Slashers to Resurrect Its Horrors for Remake

Night Slashers

Back in the heyday of the side-scrolling arcade beat ’em up, there were plenty of alternatives to mainstays like Capcom’s Final Fight or the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Streets of Rage series. In 1993, Data East gave the familiar formula a bloody twist with the horror-themed Night Slashers, and now Forever Entertainment and G-Mode are teaming up to bring it back in the form of a remake.

Details are light at the moment, but Forever Entertainment plans to bring this one to “all major platforms” at some point. The company has been dipping into quite a few remakes lately, including Panzer Dragoon and its upcoming sequel, as well as the first two House of the Dead games and an assortment of as-yet unnamed Square Enix titles.

Stay tuned for more on the remake of Night Slashers as further announcements are made. In the meantime, you can play the original on Switch.
