#14 people shot across NYC in yet another bloody night

Gunfire rang out at Ninth Avenue and West 39th Street in Hell’s Kitchen around 3:30 a.m., striking a 21-year-old man in the chin and arm, according to police.

He was taken to NYC Health Hospitals/Bellevue with non-life-threatening injuries, and simply told cops he heard shots and felt pain.

Hours earlier, a 33-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were shot around 10 p.m. Monday at a candlelight vigil for a family member at the Soundview Houses on Seward Avenue near Croes Place at about 10 p.m., cops said.

The relationship between the victims was not immediately clear.

They were taken to Jacobi Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

And just after 9 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 25-year-old woman blasted in the leg at Fifth Avenue and West 132nd Street in Harlem, cops said.

Both say they were walking when they heard shots and felt pain. They were taken to NYC Health Hospitals/Harlem by private means.

Around 8:10 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg inside St. Mary’s Park at East 148th Street and St. Ann’s Avenue in the South Bronx.

Both were taken to Lincoln Medical Center, and it’s unclear what led to the shooting.

Earlier Monday evening, a 19-year-old woman was shot once in the leg at 224th Street and North Conduit Avenue in the Laurelton neighborhood of Queens.

She too reported hearing shots and feeling pain, and was treated at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, cops said.

On Monday alone, seven shootings were reported with 13 victims, according to preliminary information released by the NYPD.

No one was killed.

A day earlier, the city endured a bloody Sunday with a total of 16 shootings involving 20 victims.

City shooting numbers have been rising all year, but they skyrocketed when warmer weather hit, sending the total number of incidents in just the first seven months of the year barreling past the total for all of 2019.
