The Queens resident had been working on the 6:11 p.m. train from Manhattan to Port Washington on Thursday when he discovered the bag, which held a tray of 36 expensive engagement rings, according to transit officials.

Yellowday got on the next train to Penn Station and gave the valuables to MTA police.

The rings were accidentally left behind by Midtown jeweler Ed Eleasian, who took the train into the city Friday afternoon to retrieve his rings and give Yellowday a hug, the LIRR said.

The 36 rings were returned to the Midtown jeweler who hugged Yellowday and thanked him.

“I could only imagine what you were going through yesterday when you realized that you didn’t have your jewelry. You know when you get on the 6:11 you’re in good hands,” said Yellowday, who has been working on the railroad for seven years.

MTA officials were also on hand to celebrate the honest conductor, and thank him for not derailing dozens of marriages.

“Not only did you find and return these 36 rings, but just think about the happiness of 36 couples down the road that will be joined together in happiness, and they’ll have a story to tell,” said LIRR President Phil Eng
