#0-16 on the Table for Jets

Gang's All Here Episode 41 Jets podcast
N.Y. Post: Charles Wenzelberg

As the losses pile up for the Jets, the 0-16 possibility becomes more and more realistic. They were manhandled yet again Sunday, losing to the Cardinals 30-10 at MetLife Stadium. New quarterback and same result for Gang Green, who are now 0-5 in a season that looks bleaker than my cholesterol levels after a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. To break down Sunday’s loss, Brian Costello and I bring you a brand new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast.

We open the podcast talking about it being the same old song for the offense. Joe Flacco was not very good, but the play-calling was also atrocious. The Jets could not convert on three separate third-and-1 plays, which is flat out embarrassing. They drew up a fullback dive play on one of them with third-string tight end Trevon Wesco. The offensive line was brutal. They could not get a push at all. The talent on the roster is just flat out awful, which plays a big factor in most of these games. Jamison Crowder has been the best player on the team when he is on the field. Kyler Murray was finding anyone he wanted against the Jets defense, despite them holding him to 31 yards rushing. Chris Herndon has just been a disaster. He had a key drop in the game and has been nothing short of atrocious this season. It’s time the Jets bench him and give Ryan Griffin a majority of the snaps. Herndon has become a liability on the field. Le’Veon Bell did not speak to Coz and reporters after the game. Coz says that Bell is “done” and his Pittsburgh years are way behind him. Coz thinks the Jets should trade him at this point for anything, but that nobody wants to trade for that contract. Next week in Miami will be the first time Coz is not at a game in 149 games. It’s almost like when Cal Ripken Jr. finally did not play in a game after his record-setting streak.

NY Post sports columnist Mark Cannizzaro then makes his Season 2 debut on the pod. Cannizzaro talks about covering the game with Coz and why 0-16 is very much on the table. He gets into the future of Adam Gase, why he was probably not the right guy in the first place and who could be out there to replace him. There is the chance Gregg Williams is the defensive coordinator of two different 0-16 teams, which has never happened. Cann gets into the matchup against the Dolphins not even being a winnable game after Ryan Fitzpatrick had an amazing day Sunday, Flacco owning his struggles on Zoom after the game and Bell choosing not to talk to the media after the game.
